“It’s about how to live the Christian life without being insufferable and, at the same time, to make a difference. I commend this book to you. The truths herein go deep and you will think about them the rest of your life.” - Dr. Steve Brown, Professor Emeritus, Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando)
"This story will inspire and equip you. As great mentoring stories do, this work becomes even more powerful as you share the principles you love."
- Dondi Scumaci, author of Career Moves and Ready, Set...Grow
Inverted Leadership is all about…
…Gospel-centered servant leadership: focusing on others as a way to help them become better versions of themselves. I teach a leadership philosophy called Confident Humility that can help improve every area of your life. Confident Humility balances the two seemingly opposite ideas of confidence (being sure of who God has created you to be), and humility (self-forgetfulness, focusing on others, using your gifts to serve others).
This type of leadership hinges on three principles:
1) Lead Where You Are
2) Be the First
3) Lead Through Learning

In addition to speaking about leadership, I also apply the principles of Confident Humility in three other messages. These are on the topics of education, relationships in blended families, and the study of history:
What Are You Doing Here? - This presentation focuses on the effect of Confident Humility on education, both for teachers and for students. It examines how our motives and our understanding of the purpose of education shape the results. Key takeaways: focus on values, virtues, and skills, not test scores and technology. The goal is better people, not just better students.
Four Parents, Two Houses - Confident Humility is necessity for proper relationships, and this message focuses on how it will help improve difficult relationships between adults or between adults and children. Key takeaways: be willing to get shortchanged in the short-term in order to have better harmony in the long-term; compromise and flexibility are absolutely necessary.
Why History Matters - The study of history expands and increases our understanding of who we are and who we are becoming, and this message shows how history, when studied through the lens of Confident Humility, helps us grow as people while also becoming less judgmental of others. Key takeaways: the answer to "why" is almost always in the past, so let's find it; by studying what has come before, we can have a greater impact on what will come after.
